Elegantly dark and solid, destined to last. So harmonious that in its native lands it is used to build many typical musical instruments. It is iroko, a yellow-brown African wood, similar in features and appearance to teak, but less valuable and expensive. As for the noble cousin, its fibers are rich in oils, a property that makes them waterproof and resistant to humidity, even without special treatments. It is a hard, stable and resistant essence.

The sapwood differs greatly from the yellow heartwood which takes on a golden-brown color upon exposure to light. It has a medium texture with often crossed fibers. The sapwood is attacked by parasites and must therefore be eliminated, while the heartwood is durable.
